• Prof. Dr. Saleh Mothana Obadi is a senior researcher at the Institute of Economic Research of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, where he has been working since 1997. He is a professor of international economic relations. For a long time, he has focused in his scientific and research activities, mainly in the field of world economy, energy economics and energy security. The result of these activities, in addition to a whole series of published peer-reviewed scientific articles and monographs that have received important awards, such as Prize of the Literary Fund of the Slovak Republic for scientific and professional literature for the year 2012 in the category of social sciences: for the work "Development and perspectives of the world economy Between stagnation and recovery" and the Prize of the University of Economics in Bratislava for extraordinary publication outputs in 2016 in the category Scientific works in domestic current content journals for the article "Drivers of CO₂ Emissions in the Slovak Economy: the Logarithmic Mean Divisia Index Approach of Decomposition".

  He was a principal investigator and co-investigator of many domestic and international research projects. He currently a principal investigator of the VEGA research project "Energy security and sustainable competitiveness: implications for the European Union" where makes a significant contribution mainly through the application of various methods and models to identify factors affecting the energy security of selected regions, especially the European Union.

  Prof. Saleh M. Obadi has involved in the education of MSc. graduates and PhD. students. During his work at the University of Economics in Bratislava, he supervised more than 50 MSc. theses in full-time and distance learning. He supervised 9 doctoral students at the Economic Institute and the EU, Faculty of Economics and the EU, Faculty of Business.

  He is a member of the APVV Council for Social Sciences. He was a member of the VEGA commission for economic sciences in two terms. He is also a member of the worldwide experts of economists who participate in the "World Economic Survey" for the Ifo Institute for Economic Research, University of Munich, Germany. He is a member of several trade union commissions at the University of Economics in Bratislava and Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica.
