In this Working paper we try to examine the positive and negative sides of development in selected realm of world economy. One of the key areas is international trade with goods and services which registered a significant growth in the last couple of years in spite of the hike in prices of significant commodities like Crude oil. In this study we also try to statistically analyze the development of international trade with services, especially in the EU. Migration of persons across international boundaries in search of economic opportunity and better human life has enormous implications for growth and welfare in both origin and destination countries. The development of this factor especially in the EU is also analyzed in this paper. In addition, this analysis deals with the development of international financial markets and in particular the development of portfolio investments to the alternative sources of energy and information technology which have a turbulance growth dynamics in the last decade.
