Based on a decree by the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic, the Institute of Economic Research of the Slovak Academy of Sciences is entitled to offer study in PhD. programs. Currently, the Institute of Economic Research has signed cooperation with the Faculty of Economics and Finance of the University of Economics in Bratislava (study field Economic Theory, program Economics), the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences of the Comenius University in Bratislava (study field Political Science, program European studies and policies) and Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics of the Comenius University in Bratislava (study field Mathematic, Applied Mathematics).
The Institute of Economic Research is a workplace where internationally accepted research is carried out on the research topics including world economy problems, formulation of structural policies, macroeconomic and microeconomic modeling and the development of the domestic and international financial system. Approved PhD supervisors are internationally accepted experts who not only contribute to the dissemination and deepening of scientific knowledge in the given scientific areas, but often participate at the formulation of domestic and supranational economic policies. Doctoral studies at the Institute of Economic Research SAS offer potential applicants the opportunity to participate in cutting-edge research carried out at the Institute, participate in international scientific conferences and short- and long-term scientific stays abroad, and contribute to professional discussion in formulating effective public policies.
