Series of publications and scientific events involves complex topics in relation to the project VEGA 2/0004/12 Paradigms of future changes in the 21st century (geopolitical, economic and cultural aspects) and to the project VEGA 2/0026/15 Income stratification and perspectives of polarization of Slovakia until 2030.
Scientific publications in the series of Paradigm changes in the 21st century
Publications are contributions expanding view of the paradigm changes in the 21st century, which was first focused on by monography "Quest for Configurations in Mosaic" and proceedings papers "Infrastructure society, infrastructure human and controlled society" in 2012. Monography "Europe, Slovakia – Connections between the Global Economic and Peace Potential" in 2013 and publication "Global world - cooperation or confrontation?" in 2014 were published in relation to fundamental changes in the global society that have both - an economic and geopolitical impact. The ambition of other publication in the series (to be dated 2015) "Adaptation processes - the future of Europe and Slovakia" was not only the spread of knowledge in the strategic direction of the European Union and in contexts of current geopolitical events, but also to present different aspects of the Slovak society’s polarization. Publication China's Investment Strategies in Terms of Crisis was focused on context of the Middle Kingdom’s development as one of the global society’s hegemons in 2015. --Monography Adaptation processes and pulsating economy arose In 2016, evaluates the current adaptation of the economy and society to change of the conditions that caused not only the crisis, but also the major global challenges are accentuated in the publication as a results of changes in the natural environment, the arrival of new technologies and in custody the labor market and the geopolitical context functioning civilization models. The concept of a vibrant economy is introduced with an emphasis on the action of the time factor and potential share of a shrinking economy with respect to the polarized society. The issue of adaptation processes is in other contexts pertracted in the anthologies of scientific papers with the same name, published in 2016. Consequently, in 2017, the publication of the Paradigms of the Changes in the 21st Century: External and internal determinants of society polarization was elaborated, while at the same time attention focused on the context of income polarization and qualitative change in employment of the Slovak Republic.

In this publication, we presented our methodology of exploration of income inequalities and polarization, taking into account international theoretical and practical experience. Qualitative change in employment of the Slovak Republic

The existing outlets and approaches to employment in Slovakia have been mostly based on the linear continuation of preceding development and on the prolongation of defined links between economic growth, production and employment. This knowledge has undoubtedly been sufficient for certain developmental stages. With regard to the nature and rapid pace of factors, future development will be, with high probability, different and outlets hitherto selected will no longer suffice. The significance of factors such as demographic development and the traditional structure of employment in the sectors and branches of the national economy is decreasing in a certain way and the growth in importance of systemic factors is coming into the foreground. Adaptation processes and pulsating economy
The previous adaptation of the economy and society to change the conditions that caused the crisis can’t be considered neither satisfactory nor terminated. On the contrary, the issues still accumulates, creating new and increasing their mutual influence and multiplies the negative effects compressed in an ever shorter period of time. The reaction in form of using traditional solution tools proves to be ineffective /not much effective. There is a whole series of questions directed to different areas of theoretical and practical platform, in order to seek the answer to basis of failure. Because the economic science of examining isolated phenomena and processes as well as other scientific disciplines, has relatively little chance to find the answers by itself.... (read more)

The combination of lacks of financial resources in countries attached by the crisis on the one hand and excesses of real financial recourses of large institutional investors on the other hand, it is the result of changes in financial market. Sovereign funds in the world
The Sovereign funds represent a huge amount of state-owned and controlled financial resources. These are invested - according to strategy – mostly outside of the country owns them, but in home country, too. Growth of their relevance could be noticed in 90s of 20th century and just before start of financial and economic crisis in 2007. On 27th October 2017 was held VII. International Scientific Conference Paradigms of future changes in the 21st century: External and internal determinants of society polarization at the SOREA Regia Hotel in Bratislava. Co-organizers of the conference were: the Faculty of Economics of the Technical University in Kosice, the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology of the Slovak University of Technology in Trnava, Institute for Social and Economic Research of Ufa Scientific Center of Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Economics and Management of The Ufa State Aviation Technical University. 2012 Infrastructure of Society - Infrastructure of man - Controlled Society
What will be future like? The answer, we looked for at conference by Institute of Economic Research SAS „Paradigms of future changes in 21st century“, with subtitle: infrastructure of society – infrastructure of man – controlled society. The conference was held in the Castle of Smolenice from 16th – 17th May 2012 with financial support by Západoslovenská energetika a.s., EON group. Gestor of the second conference in a row was Iveta Pauhofova, whom was also moderator with Peter Stanek. International conference was held under the auspices of the President of Slovak republic Mr. Ivan Gasparovic. Organising committee prepared it in cooperation with Faculty of economics TUKE and Slovak association for Club of Rome. Scientists from Slovakia, Czech Republic, Austria, Russian federation and USA presented their opinions at the conference.
2011 Quest for Configurations in Mosaic
The timeliness of the topic – new paradigms of future development in Slovak society – was confirmed by taking the conference under the auspices of the President of Slovak republic Mr. Ivan Gasparovic. President’s Office was represented by academician Milan Cic. Conference was organised by department of Research methodology of future and strategic evaluation, Institute of economic research SAS in cooperation with Slovak association for Club of Rome. The objective was to shape the areas in which we can expect significant changes in future, also to point them out in context of human’s life levels in fundamentally changing globalised world.
