ID number: VEGA 2/0007/19The issue of energy policy respectively energy security and creation of Energy union is getting to forefront of EU policies interests due to the influence of heterogeneity and asynchronicity of other EU economic policies. Energy has become a phenomenon and a key sector of the global economic scene, which can have a major impact on the development of competitiveness or political and social stability. The Research will focus primarily on the analysis of current trends in the energy policies of the world's most important players on the energy scene as well as on the prediction of their future development. A key part of the research will be an effort to quantify the evolution of EU energy security, taking into account a wide range of micro economic, macroeconomic, political and other factors that may affect it and to reveal its potential impact on the competitiveness of both the key sectors of the EU economy and its macroeconomic indicators.
