• The project was initiated in 1993 by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. Within this project detailed studies on economic development of Slovakia are being prepared every year (originally every 6 months). The project is not financed from external funds.

  INTERNATIONAL PROJECT

• The studies elaborated within the project focus on ascertaining the factors and quality of economic growth, on assessment of the macroeconomic equilibrium, analysis of foreign trade and the balance of payments. Attention is paid to the quality of monetary, fiscal and wage policies and to their impact on economic growth and stability. Inclusion into research of the annual assessments of a long-term development and international comparison leads to shaping generalized views and to recognition of new experience and facts on relations between economic development and economic reforms. A cognitive value can be added also to detecting mutual impacts among economic, social and political developments, even from the aspect of alternating political cycles and the economic policies following thereof. Analyses are also used for creating shortterm prognoses of economic development of SR, targeted namely on estimates of changed conditions and its trends.
