• The research results of the project characterize content, goals, tools and methods of implementing the EU economic policy as a whole, as well as its particular components, i. e. fiscal, wages policy, banking, social, industrial, technological and innovation policy. Knowledge of the EU economic policy allow on one side to identify the space where the SR could enforce their own economic-political issues within the EU, on the other side, they offer the ways how to assess potential variants of activities of Slovakia within the EU. It is proposed that the national interests be formulated, presented and asserted as a contribution to formulation and implementation of common interests of the Union. In the course of research of the economic policy also the contents and potential procedures of preparing strategy of socio-economic development were suggested. In formulating the strategy, application of a continuously participating method is substantiated, which makes use of a continuous flow of interests, activities and ideas stemming from all links of economic structure.
