The research focus of department
Department of the world economy is characterized by a two-step research direction, this is partly about watching each defined research areas of the global economy and partly to create interconnected system of contexts, impacts and limits of each circuit containing systemic context, as well as the time frames of change processes, neuralgic break points, but also the expected impacts on the development of society and economy

- Analyses of various aspects of globalization (outsourcing, offshoring) and their impact on the economy.
- Position and role of national economies and transnational clusters in the globalization process.
- Transnational corporations as a factor forming the development of the global economy, as well as national economies.
- International financial flows, financial markets, a new global financial architecture.
- Polarization of wealth, society, income stratification and global consumption.
- Paradigms of changes in the 21st century.
- Foreign direct investment as a factor of global capital flows, but also a tool of the global strategy of transnational corporations and countries (sovereign funds).
- Technology as a key factor in innovation, in knowledge economy, in competitiveness, but also in the development of employment.
