In intention of examine the income polarization is to identify development of distribution and inequality in wages of the population at regional and sectoral level and reveal the nature of the changes. Furthermore, attention is directed to determine the nature of the relationship of wages, unemployment and long-term unemployment on a regional basis. Given the trend of aging in Slovakia is also the intention to identify the current income position of older people in the regions and in relation to the development of labor polarization to estimate direction of future retirement pensions.
