In this paper we track the course of development in employment in relation to economy output changes in Slovakia, with a particular focus on the impact of the economic crisis 2008/2009. The aim is to assess whether changes in selected characteristics of employment that occurred after the fluctuations in product development are long-term in nature and whether they led to catch up with the trends in other economies of the European Union.
