Analysis of the relationship between the minimum wage, average wage and unemployment at the regional level helps to uncover the specificities of the disposable income development in the districts of the SR. It is a contribution to identifying the income polarization. The results of using the spatial model through significant local Moran coefficients confirm the increase of regional differences between the southeast and the west of the country in the monitored period 2005-2017. Further growth in the minimum wage is significant for increasing disposable income in Slovak regions. However, the assumption is that economic growth will continue in a longer time and real adaptation to changes in the external environment (EU) in the form of searching for alternative pillars of the Slovak economy.
