The main demographic feature in Slovakia is population ageing, that expresses itselfs in deterioration of old age dependancy ratio. Worsening the relation between the part of population in productive age and the part of population in post-productive age (pensioners have been growing at a faster rate) will have the serious consequences both for the financing of pension system as a whole and for the preservation of pension relations as the main resource of revenues of older people in adequates margines. The main aim of this paper is the identification of the main possibilities how to overtake the biggest risks of peńsion system arising from the increased number of pensioners till 2030.
