In our study we focus on the issue of structural gap between Slovak Republic and EU 15 countries.
We describe common tendencies in the development of the structure of EU 15 economies and we
compare structural changes in Slovak economy to structural changes in EU 15. We evaluate structural
gap between Slovakia and aggregate of EU 15 and between Slovakia and individual countries of EU
15. We also touch the question of how present development of the structure of Slovak economy can
influence future possibilities of real convergence of Slovakia to developed countries of EU 15.
