The intention of this work is to expand knowledge in the field of income inequality and polari-zation of the Slovak republic. The focus is on the characterization of assumptions based on the context of global risks, to identify the causes of inequality and polarization in terms of theoretical and empirical work of domestic and foreign origin and to explain the differences between income inequality and polarization. In particular, attention is focused on the development of basic determinants of income inequality and polarization (exogenous and endogenous character) at the level of regions of Slovakia also at the level of potential impact on the econo-my and society.
