The low wage share and wage level is seen as one the traditional problems of the Slovak eco-nomy.This contribution deals with two insights to the problems of labor income issues:
1) It deals with changes in the structure of income. The prevailing low share of wages in value added began to grow significantly in recent years. The functional structure of income in the years 2013–2015 developed in such a way as in the Slovak economy has not previously been recorded. Change of trends in the structure of income (together with the improvement of labor market indicators) was enabled by changed structure of demand increases, employment growth in the state-influenced branches, changes in the sectoral composition of GDP growth and also by changes in the forms of employment.
2) It deals with the structural context: the link between the volume and structure of assets of companies and remuneration. The question asked is whether it can be empirically confirmed that economic activity based on the use of a higher volume of assets (and especially so-called intellectual assets) are associated with higher compensation of employees.
