Due to the excessive deficit, Slovakia, as a member of the European Monetary Union, is in the excessive deficit procedure. In this context, the Slovak government adopted a consolidation package for 2025 consisting of 21 diverse measures. Its aim was to restore the public finances of the Slovak Republic, but the government only quantified its direct contribution to the public budget. The aim of this work is to estimate its direct impact on the corporate sector, based on a questionnaire survey. As shown by a survey among managers of large enterprises, the consolidation package in the corporate sector will cause cost inflation, which will adversely affect their price competitiveness on both the domestic and foreign markets. This negative impact of the consolidation package on the corporate sector will negatively affect future corporate investments and economic growth, and thus also public budget revenues.
