The paper studies impact of slovak export on basic macroeconomic aggregates such as value added and employment. It is based on literature studying global value chains and methodology of multiregional input-output analysis. Main results show that slovak export in the period 1995 – 2009 generated directly and indirectly around 40 % of value added and employment in domestic economy. Multiplicative effects of export on domestic economy are smaller than those of domestic demand. This is given by serious integration of export-oriented industries with foreign suppliers, especially in car and electronics industry.
