Last week, a seminar entitled "Management and System for Developing the Vision for the Development of Slovakia until 2040 – Slovakia 2040" was held in the historic building of the National Council of the Slovak Republic in Bratislava.
The meeting featured a presentation by Marek Radvanský, Vice-President of the Slovak Academy of Sciences for Economics and Legislation and guarantor of the development of the vision for the entire Slovak Academy of Sciences, on the substantive and temporal process of developing the Vision for Slovakia 2040. All representative entities involved in shaping public policy will be represented in four working groups – the pillars of the strategy: "Successful Slovakia", "Quality of Life", "Sustainable Country" and "Modern State". Miroslav Štefánik, Director of the Institute of Economic Research of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, became the guarantor of the first pillar.
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico emphasized the importance of the document and its long-term strategic impact. He called on the experts who will be working on the vision to use objective information and facts and to put everything they know and are experts in into the document. "The document must be created as a material in which the best minds we have in Slovakia will participate. Under the auspices of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, we are able to bring them together," said Robert Fico.
The Vision for Slovakia 2040 is to be developed by June 30, 2026. The Strategy for Slovakia 2040 will be a follow-up document with a deadline of January 31, 2027.
