From April 8 to 10, 2026, a team composed of students from the Master’s program in Applied Economics at the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences, Comenius University, together with internal doctoral students from the Institute of Economic Research of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (Laura Eleková and Martin Ifka), participated in the prestigious global econometric modeling competition, the Econometrics Game 2026, held in the Netherlands. The competition was organized under the auspices of the University of Amsterdam and featured 30 student teams from renowned universities around the world, including the University of Toronto, the University of Oxford, and the University of Cambridge. As part of the competition, the team developed and tested a predictive model for energy prices in Denmark using hourly price data. We thank our doctoral students for their successful representation and hope they will continue to apply the experience gained to their further doctoral studies and professional practice.
