On the occasion of its 70th anniversary, the Institute of Economics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAV) presented itself to the general public at the Weekend with SAV event, which took place on 23 and 24 June 2023 at M. R. Štefánik Square in Bratislava. The INTERCEPT: HOW TO MOBILISE THE UNEMPLOYED FOR A CAREER IN THE GREEN ECONOMY project was also presented and introduced to the visitors and the general public had the opportunity to get to know more about the training and employment needs in the field of the green economy.
Subsequently, on 28.06.2023, a national event was organized under the auspices of the Institute of Economics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in cooperation with other partners of the INTERECEPT project, aimed at the presentation of the pilot measure for young NEETs aged 25-29 years. The purpose of this event was to present the project itself, the funding scheme through the EEA and Norway Grants together with the project objectives to the professional public and representatives of public authorities involved in employment policy making (MInistry of Labour and Slovak Public Employment Service). Representatives of the partner organisations from Malta, Italy and Lithuania shared their experiences and insights gained from testing the pilot scheme in the conditions of these countries.
In the final session of the event, Miroslav Štefánik, Director of the EU SAV, presented a view on the effectiveness of active labour market policy measures in Slovakia, stressing that measures often have multiple objectives and not all are adequately covered by indicators. Then Igor Liška from the Institute of Social Policy presented an approach for assessing the risk profile of a job seeker in terms of long-term non-application to the labour market when he/she is included in the registration.
INTERCEPT project benefits from a €2.18M grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Youth Employment.
