International workshop The impact of the decline of the oil prices on the global economy was held on April 22 in the Small Academy of Sciences convention center. The sponsor of the workshop was doc. Ing. Saleh Mothana Obadi PhD., Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Economic Research.
The energy sector is the main artery of any modern economy and therefore a large movement in oil prices will significantly affect every economy whether positive or negative, stated Doc. Obadi in his speech, which focused on the impact of the fall of oil prices on the economies of oil-exporting countries and the world economy as a whole.
At this workshop with valuable contributions performed by doc. Malý M. from Newton College, Brno, Czech Republic, Ing. Sipos T. from ZSE, Mgr. Valentino M. from CAP and prof. Stanek, P. from SAS EU. After each of the two panels it was opened a fruitful discussion on which performed with notes and questions of people from academic and private environment. Speakers agreed on the fact that energy prices, not just oil and gas, owing to several factors, with the weight of each factor varies in each period of significant growth or decline in the prices of this commodity. At the same time acting noted that oil prices will not affect electricity prices in the EU because it is generated by other sources of primary commodities. In each case a significant drop in oil prices negatively impact economies dependent on income from exports of this commodity and on the contrary a positive impact on the economy of the oil importing countries.
